Please note this is a single item. The reference image shows multiple angles of the same device. If you are ordering this product it is recommended to place an order for two devices.

  • Works on all Lap Siding.

  • No need for layout lines.

  • No attaching and re-attaching the Tool for each course, unlike other siding tools.

  • No adjustment tools needed.

  • Top Tray Caps, are available for fiber Cement, OSB, and Cedar applications.

  • Adjusts to Boards up to 10" Height.

  • Accepts All Board width's no need to buy multiple products

Trays accept Fiber/Cement Boards, OSB, & Cedar.  Caps are available for the Top Tray when applying OSB, Cedar or Fiber/Cement Boards.

Lay out your first course and affix into place when desired placement & level is achieved.

Set your Top Tray at zero (0) at the top of the tool, flush with the Tape Measure/Tongue at the top of the Precision Siding Tool. Adjust to your desired overlap by pulling the pin located below the bottom tray, and moving the Bottom Tray until your desired overlap is achieved.

Ex: A 10'“ Board with a desired 2” overlap, adjust the Bottom Tray so that it is 8” below the Top Tray.

The Ruler along the side of the Precision Siding Tool will quickly indicate how far you are from the Top Tray. The Bottom Tray adjusts by 1/4” Increments. Snap the Knurled Pull Pin into place when you achieve your desired overlap and lock into place by twisting the Knurled Knob.

Affix the Top Tray Caps into Place for use on the type of siding you have chosen. OSB, Cedar or Fiber/Cement.

With the Bottom tray resting against the bottom of the previous course appliedapplying upward pressure, simply lay the next course on the Top Tray and affix into place.  Repeat...

The Bottom Tray must always be in direct contact with the bottom of the previous course applied, before affixing the next course placed on the top tray.

Outlines cuts for Doors' and Windows', Boxes, Vents, etc., easily and with complete accuracy.

100% accurate spacing on every course.

(Assuming): Both Precision Siding Tools are spaced accurately for your desired overlap, the first course applied is "level and flush" with the surface, and all following courses are applied flush with the Wall and the Bottom of the previous course applied.

Caps for the Top Tray are available to assure accurate placement on OSB, Cedar & Fiber Cement Boards.

 Tape Measuring/Tongue built in

Carabiner Belt Clip, located on the handle, hooks to articles of clothing or tool belt.

Important:  Two (2) Precision Siding Tools' are required for the project, one supporting each side of the board to be applied.

Failure to use two (2) Precision Siding Tools' as required, will result in your constantly re-checking for level and other undesirable results.

Please follow all manufacturers' requirements for treating end cuts, nails/staples/adhesives, caulks, spacing, etc, for the siding you have chosen.

HOW IT WORKS!

Speed Square: (Tape Measure/Tongue) This feature allows you to quickly and accurately transfer both horizontal and vertical lines, revealing material to be removed around Doors and Windows,Vents, Boxes, etc,.  The side of the tool can also be used to transfer Vertical lines when rough surfaces prevent use of the Tape Measure/Tongue.

Remove Top Tray Caps when transferring horizontal lines, and replace the caps before affixing the next course into place.

Trigger: on the handle, both holds the Tape Measure/Tongue in place for transferring horizontal lines, and releases the Tape Measure/Tongue for transferring vertical lines.  The side of the Precision Siding Tool can also be used for transferring vertical lines.

Adjustable tray:  Bottom Trays is adjustable to 1/4" increments via the pull pin under the tray, and can adjusted for any board up to 10" in height.  Desired overlap is achieved by setting the Top Tray Flush with the Tongue at the top of the Precision Siding Tool (the 0" mark at the top of the tool), and adjusting the Bottom Tray until your desired overlap is achieved.

Ex:  A 10" board with a desired overlap of 2", set the top tray to the zero (0) at the top of the Precision Siding Tool (flush with the measuring tape/tongue), and adjust the bottom tray so that it is 8" from the top tray. Ruler on the side of the Precision Siding Tool quickly shows your distance from the Top Tray.

WINDOWS & DOORS

You will arrive at a point where the next course to be applied must be notched out for a Door, Window, Box, Vent, etc,.

When this happens on the bottom of a Window or other obstruction, hold the Precision Siding Tool under the Window or obstruction with the bottom tray resting (with upward pressure) on the last course applied, depress the Trigger and raise the Tape Measure / Tongue above the Top Tray until it is level with the bottom of the Window or obstruction, release the trigger, the Tape Measure / Tongue, remains locked in place.

This measurement is the horizontal line under or above the Window or obstruction, now you're ready to transfer your horizontal line to the next course you're applying.

* Note:  The Top Tray must be level and flush with the Tape Measure/Tongue at the Top of the tool, the (0) Mark at the top of the tool, and the Bottom Tray set for your desired overlap.

Remove the Caps, and place the Top Tray of the Precision Siding Tool, against the next course to be applied, and transfer your mark at the top of the Tape Measure/Tongue, horizontally.  Replace the Caps when your Horizontal mark has been transferred and before applying your next course.

When this happens on the Top of a Window, Door or obstruction, place a straight edge on top of the Window Frame or Obstruction, and extend it at least (3") past the edge of the Window Frame, Door or obstruction.

As with the bottom of a window, hold upward pressure upon the Bottom Tray of the last course applied. Raise the Measuring Tape/Tongue of your Precision Siding Tool above the top tray until it reaches the bottom of your straight edge without raising it, and lock it in place by releasing the trigger.

Remove the Caps and press the Top Tray of your Precision Siding Tool against the next course to be applied, and transfer your horizontal line by making your mark at the top of the Tape Measure/ Tongue.  Replace Caps when your line has been transferred and before affixing your next course.

Releasing the trigger allows you to retract the Tape Measure/Tongue with the pressure of your pencil (marking device) which will transfer your vertical lines.  The side of the tool may also be used to transfer vertical lines.

DOORS:

When you come to the point where you encounter a Door to be notched out.

Place a straight edge along the top of the Door frame so that it extends past the side of the frame at least three inches (3").  Raise the Tape Measure/Tongue as before on the window or obstruction, so that the Tape Measure/Tongue rests at the bottom of the straight edge, without raising the straight edge, and leave the Measuring Tape/Tongue locked in place. Now you are ready to transfer your horizontal lay out line, to the next course applied.

Lay out vertical lines as done with the window.  The Tape Measure/Tongue, or the side of the Precision Siding Tool may be used for transferring vertical lines.
